Lenovo has launched new version of its K series note smartphone i.e. K8 Note few days back. The smartphone will be Amazon exclusive and priced at INR 12,999 (3G + 32GB version), INR 13,999 (4GB + 64GB version).
In this article, I want to share my views with you about whether to buy this phone or you should consider buying any other smartphone in this price bracket.
The smartphone is really a power house in terms of pure performance because it uses a high end 10 core MediaTek processor (Helio X23). You can buy it if you need pure performance for gaming or other high end tasks. But, In my opinion, there are better options available in this price range or even lesser. Below is the list of smartphones I would recommend over K8 Note (ranked in order of preference):
- Lenovo Z2 Plus: This smartphone is retailing at price point around 10,000 – 12,000 for 4GB + 64GB version. This phone packs high end specification and features, it has Snapdragon 820 processor which is high end processor from Qualcomm. Many high end phones likes Galaxy S7, LG G5, Oneplus 3, etc. has the same processor. The phone has 5 Inch screen size thus, unlike Lenovo K8 Note, it is easy to handle with one hand.
- Motorola G5 Plus: This is another phone from house of Lenovo, this phone has much better camera than K8 Note, and tried and tested Snapdragon 625 which is fast and power efficient processor. This phone has 5.2 Inch screen size thus, unlike Lenovo K8 Note, it is easy to handle with one hand. The price of this smartphone is around 15,000.
- Xiaomi Redmi Note 4: This is another phone that you can consider before buying K8 Note. However, there is very tough competition between these two. I would say both these phone are equally placed, you won’t regret if you choose either one.
