How to Prevent Spam Comments and Spam User Registrations on a WordPress Website

If you have build a new WordPress website, you must have been wondering, why there are a lot of spam comments and spam user registrations. Well, you are not alone, many WordPress websites encounter such problem. In this article, we will guide you how to get rid of these spam comments and registrations.

We are giving you a simple solution and you need not to have any coding skills. You just have to download a WordPress Plugin named ‘All In One WP Security & Firewall’. This is a comprehensive WordPress security plugin. Just follow below steps to use this plugin for prevent spam comments and spam user registration:

• Download the Plugin from Here
• Upload the ‘all-in-one-wp-security.zip’ file from the Plugins->Add New page in the WordPress administration panel
• Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
• Go to Settings menu under ‘WP Security’ and start activating the security features of the plugin

Just go to ‘SPAM PREVENTION’ tab under WP Security marked in red color for your reference. It will open comment spam menu, you can click the checkbox besides ‘Enable Captcha On Comment Forms’. This will enable captcha on the comment box and only real users will be able to read it. Thus, spammer won’t work on comment pages.

Similar to spam comments, you can prevent spam user registration. The above snapshots show that the ‘User Registration’ tab under ‘WP Security’ marked in red color for your reference. It has further sub-menus on the right, just appropriately adjust the settings as per your preferences. This will restrict the user registrations to the valid users only and spam users will be prevented.
